Spring/Summer styles added to the shop!
Inspired by the beautiful weather, I added a bunch of spring/summer styles to the online shop!
For Spring 2012 I took my tailored, city girl aesthetic and rooted it in an out west color story. The main colors I pulled from a version of Aesop’s fables that was illustrated by Arthur Rackham. I always thought it was so funny when the animals wore clothing and I put one of my favorite illustrations on my wall.

I also pulled in a lot of country style elements like bold topstitching, beautiful buttons and patchwork and a few nature inspired shapes to create cowling and swirling seam lines.

I focused on layers and separates. Of course there are still a few special occasion dresses but most have a draped silhouette or can be worn with a blouse or wrap to make an interesting evening wear statement.

I wanted the collection to be able to mix all together so that guided a lot of the design.

I also wanted the collection to have a really 3-D look on the hanger, nothing flat. I do woven blouses every season, for spring I moved all of the seam lines into curves and swirls, like the bug’s shells pictured on my wall, to create that 3-D hanger effect on even streamlined, fitted pieces.

The city wardrobe on a road trip idea really comes through in the silhouettes. A tailored element mixed with a draped piece makes a really easy to wear, modern silhouette.

The idea of pairing that silhouette with a vintage color story and some nostalgia inducing details seemed fresh and appealing.

Hope you enjoy the collection! Photos are by Eileen Soo shot in beee-utiful Vancouver.

Local-E Shop Girl is Me!
So I’m the shopgirl at the Local E pop up shop today! This will be my first ever retail shift, pretty sure I am going to be great at it haha. I’m making a new playlist right now so at least peeps can be stoked on that while they wait for my awesome service.
I saw Romeo and Juliet at the Vancouver Opera last week then I watched (Leo as) Romeo and Juliet from 1994 this past weekend so this playlist is shaping up awesome. I am going to put on that little boy who covers Prince, maybe some real Prince, Radiohead- talk show host, old Everclear and probably even lovefool cause I’m pretty sure that was in the movie too.
I think track 1 will be Little Joy-brand new start because it sounds kind of Christmas-ish and will be a nice break from the macabre selections already made. But also throw on The Chromatics-kill for love and Neva Dinova- it’s hard to love you because that’s kind of my thing. And happy-ish Young Dreams- young dreams, My Morning Jacket-circuital, Two Door Cinema Club-something good can work and maybe some Charli XCX though I don’t think anyone likes it except me. Oh and The Heavy- how do you like me know, I saw a skate promo/commercial with that track and it was raaaaad.
Anyway, I have to be there by 1 and that’s only like 8 songs so I better get it done and you better go have a shower and drop by to see me! It’s at 235B Cambie St (by the Bambo café, kitty korner kool to The Cambie) until 7. I might even burn this list on cd and give you one if you are r-e-a-d-i-n-g this right now and you are not a robot. Look for this red door:
Ohhhh also I heard Chairlift is coming out with a new album, I haven’t heard any tracks yet but I think I will put a bruises remix and anamaemonesia on so we can dance around… topless… (kiiiiiding… but come anyway).
New Holiday Dresses!
Hello hello, I have some new holiday dresses out! A selection of these styles are available at Studio Intent in Calgary and The Velvet Room in Vancouver.

New Year – New Dress
It’s almost party girl dress time!
For Christmas and New Years festivities I did a sleeveless silk style. It’s fitted through the bodice with a few pleats in the skirt to make it a bit (but not too) sweet!

I am going to do up this style in a few more combinations (any requests, let me know!) and post the pics soon. This style is available in the online shop for only $180.00, free shipping.
Also! For my Calgary peeps, my line is being sold at Studio Intent on 7th Ave. If you haven’t been down to the shop, go next week when these little dresses will be in store!
Check out the Chloe Dress in the Online Shop
The Chloe dress has been added to the online shop. I have added a length option, 22” above the knee length and 24” below the knee length.

If you are interested in this dress for a bridesmaid look, email me your contact info and we can talk color options.
I am working away on a variation of this dress with a gathered halter top, will update soon!
Happy Friday!
Casual Saturday Afternoon Dressing
Today I am going out for a casual Saturday in my black, tunic length, Demi tank, a cardigan and flats.

I really like this tank with the ikat printed chiffon. It is an outfit making piece in a wardrobe. Everything else worn with it can be fairly low key basics that are already in a closet. The tank is special enough to make the whole outfit. I still have enough fabric to make a few more of these tanks and at $50 with no shipping charge, it’s a grrrreat deal if you deserve a treat this week! Check out the Demi Tank here.
When night falls: add heels, remove cardigan and it’s good to go!
Have a good day!
New Top Style: Quinn Blouse!
I have added a new style to the online shop. The Quinn blouse in a sleeved and sleeveless version:

This is a wear everyday, kind of easy dressed up style. An add jeans and go kind of style. The tops are fairly long, about 2” below the low hip line. If you go with the sleeveless version, just bring a cardigan and there is no need to go home and change come nightfall. The sleeved is my favorite though, really easy to accessorize and the sleeves are really light and airy but still obviously there for coverage. The top part of shirt is lined (in both versions); it is not see through and you can wear a normal bra. Free shipping on everything in the shop!
Bring on Spring! Have a good day all!

New Demi Tank

Good Morning All. I uploaded a new style today. It’s a simplified version of the Abby Blouse but with a cotton jersey base (stretch fabric) and printed silk chiffon.
The fit is relaxed, not fitted, and pretty perfect to add a bit of drama to a casual look or to even dress it up for a nighttime look.
